To use the iTrustOnLine Reliability Program
seal, companies are required to:
- Become a member of iTrustOnLine;
- Provide iTrustOnLine with information regarding company ownership
and management and the street address and telephone number at which they
do business, which may be verified by an iTrustOnLine visit to
the company's physical premises;
- Be in business a minimum of one year (an exception can be made if
a new business is a spin-off or a division of an existing business, which
is known to and has a positive track record with iTrustOnLine);
- Have a satisfactory complaint handling record with iTrustOnLine;
- Agree to participate in the iTrustOnLine's advertising self-regulation
program and correct or withdraw online advertising when challenged by
the iTrustOnLine and found not to be substantiated or not in compliance
with our children's advertising guidelines;
- Agree to abide by the iTrustOnLine Code of Online Business
Practices and to cooperate with any iTrustOnLine request for modification
of a website to bring it into accordance with the Code;
- Respond promptly to all consumer complaints;
- Agree to dispute resolution, at the consumer's request, for unresolved
disputes involving consumer products or services.
All iTrustOnLine Reliability participants are iTrustOnLine
members.
However, it is important for you to remember that a business's participation
in iTrustOnLine does not guarantee you will be satisfied with it's
product or service. While iTrustOnLine participants have satisfactory
complaint handling records, this does not mean that they have never experienced
complaints, nor is it a guarantee that they won't in the future.
iTrustOnLine does not endorse any company, product or service
and participation in a program is not a guarantee by iTrustOnLine
of the company's performance. iTrustOnLine participants have agreed
to meet our program standards, including resolving customer disputes through
dispute resolution processes, which have a proven consumer-friendly track
record.
Note: iTrustOnLine does not pre-clear
or pre-approve online advertising. Our local and national advertising review
programs are described on our website, and complaints about online advertising
brought by consumers, competitors or public officials may be filed online
with iTrustOnLine.
